Obsolete Missing Piece

by Yesterday 95

/

about

Old technology doesn’t last forever; some technology doesn’t make it to the end of the year without being cast out by a superior model. Obsolete missing piece tackles this them and compares our old defunct machines to our own lives. Packed with lush keys and an anthemic chorus set in an 80’s influenced ballad.

lyrics

I feel discarded like
An over exposed Polaroid
A beaten up cassette tape
Outputting too much noise

I feel Like a dried up lagoon
A tap with no running water
Functionless and worn out
It's no use why even bother

Will you keep running
If the path runs out
Will you keep trying
When you've got every doubt
Will you keep hiding
When the best are about
Will you keep lying
When the dream walks out

What are we if we're obsolete
What happens if we're incomplete
What are we if we're obsolete
Why is it we've got to compete

Is this the missing piece?

Those old CRT TVs
They've got nothing on modern machines
But they take me back in time
To a place I've already been

Its tough to be the best at anything
Not everyone can cause hysteria
But I don't want to be the next entry
In the museum of obsolete media

Will you keep running
If the path runs out
Will you keep trying
When you've got every doubt
Will you keep hiding
When the best are about
Will you keep lying
When the dream walks out

What are we if we're obsolete
What happens if we're incomplete
What are we if we're obsolete
Why is it we've got to compete

Is this the missing piece?

Am I a product of my time?
A cog in the cultural zeitgeist?

Will you keep running
If the path runs out
Will you keep trying
When you've got every doubt
Will you keep hiding
When the best are about
Will you keep lying
When the dream walks out

What are we if we're obsolete
What happens if we're incomplete
What are we if we're obsolete
Why is it we've got to compete
What are we if we're obsolete
What happens if we're incomplete
What are we if we're obsolete
Why is it we've got to compete

Is this the missing piece?
